These small buds of Grape Kush have a lot of visual appeal; I love the appearance of the mellow dark green leaves juxtaposing the intense orange pistils. I also gravitate towards any strains that come with grape or berry flavours (Platinum GSC & Strawberry Cough being some of my absolute favourites), so the sweet fruity flavours of this strain are also a welcome delight to my palette.
Despite the fact that Grape Kush is gifted in appearance, she lacks slightly when it comes to substance. The effects of this relatively low potency strain struck me as a little bit bland, and none of my experiences with it really touched me in an impressive way. The high from this hybrid tends to lean a little more sativa, as the sensations can be cerebrally engaging and uplifting, while still accompanied by light relaxation and a delicate body buzz. However, these effects wear off quickly, and depending on my initial dose, the come-down can cause either couch-lock or restless anxiety.
I have a batch of Platinum Bubba Kush in my stash currently, which I have chosen not to review. I think that in the wrong contexts Bubba Kush can trigger some anxiety and unpleasant sensations, and so she is not a strain for me. Consequently, the Bubba Kush genetics present here may also be responsible for the less than desirable effects that I experienced with Grape Kush.
Grape Kush is a strain that I had very high hopes for, although, ultimately, this flower ended up letting me down. So unfortunately, these beautiful buds will not be making a repeat appearance in my stash.
